I AM.
As it is said, “In this world, there is no force equal to the strength of a determined woman,” let me all let you know what an empowered woman can do.
I graduated with my 1st nursing degree from Community College of Philadelphia in 2004. I went back to school on a full scholarship and received my 2nd degree in nursing at Thomas Jefferson University. Through employee benefits from the Upenn health system, I completed my 3rd (master’s) degree from Jeff in 2009.
I began teaching nursing students in 2009 shortly after graduating from Jeff. I’ve taught at Community College of Philadelphia, Immaculata University and Drexel University. In 2014, I accepted a full faculty position at Drexel teaching in the traditional and fast tract undergraduate nursing program.
In 2017, I founded a nonprofit organization. It was dream of mine to give back to my community by providing an opportunity for those interested in a career in health to learn vocational training. This will give them an opportunity to enter into healthcare at the entry level and afford them the employee benefits to return to school to obtain an advanced degree. Much like my personal path to nursing.
In 2018, I published my 1st book titled “So You Want To Be a Nurse? An Innovative Approach to Success.” I self published using Kindle Direct Publishing. This book is a guide for those who are nurses, or curious about a career in nursing. A year later I published a guide to writing a business plan. This guide is a workbook titled “Raise the Bar! 8 Steps to an Effective Business Plan.” It is a step-by-step guide to completing a business plan for those who need one.
I have an online teaching platform on Teachable called “Learning From Miracles.” I am currently creating a class based off the lessons in my workbook. I plan on offering a variety of courses in my online school based off those things I have experience in. The next course will be on how to self publish.
Lastly (and most certainly not least) I am a full time PhD student. Another full scholarship literally fell into my lap for the program I am currently in. An offer I could not refuse. Although, as you can see, I am very busy. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity.
I am working hard to maintain it all. But I love my life and the things that I am doing. Though things can be challenging, I feel blessed to be doing multiple things that I love to do.
